    In 2020, two machinists looked at both the multi-blade and traditional safety razors on the market, and saw glaring shortcomings in their designs.

    They had spent years machining aerospace components, solving manufacturing challenges nearly every day, and thought: “We could make a better razor.”

    They made the Henson Razor.

    THE PROBLEM:

    We think cartridge razors evolved around monetization.

    Many multi-blade \"features\" create the very irritation they claim to solve, while ignoring the basics like holding the blade rigid.

    Each upgrade exists to fix the problems the last one caused, and when a razor is built to sell cartridges, irritation isn't a failure. It's a business strategy.

    THE SOLUTION:

    Henson supports the blade.

    By clamping the blade rigidly at a fixed 30° angle, Henson focuses on shaving effectiveness.

    Since less cutting efficiency is lost to blade flex and movement, the shave requires less force, which means less tugging, pulling and irritation.

    Our customer feedback has been consistent: less irritation, clearer skin, better shaves.

    We've commissioned multiple clinical studies to quantify the feedback.

    What makes these studies unique is that we didn't just ask people how their skin felt after shaving. We used medical imaging devices to measure actual changes in blood flow to the skin.

    In our controlled study, participants shaving with the Henson Razor and our Protect Shave Cream saw a statistically significant, 77% reduction in measured erythema (razor burn).

    Henson left skin more hydrated post-shave. Cartridge razors caused significantly greater damage to the skin barrier.

    Shave foam can be worse than water.

    We found that in some cases, compressed shave foam from a can actually caused more irritation and dryness than just using water alone.

    The neck is a problem area.

    Data showed that erythema was highest on the neck.
